PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- A runoff election is expected next month after three candidates for president of the Portland police union failed to get a majority of the vote.
Central Precinct Officer Daryl Turner finished with 268 votes while Sgt. Doug Justus got 262 votes and Central Precinct Officer John Grable had 110 votes.
Dave Dobler will continue to serve as interim union president until the results of a runoff election between the top two vote-getters, Turner and Justus.
Sgt. Scott Westerman stepped down as president of the Portland Police Association in April. He is facing internal investigation for two road-rage encounters.
